Getting started

How do I list an event?

Log in (it’s free), then choose List an event in the top menu. Fill in what it’s called, the category, who it’s for, the date and time, where it is, a short description, your contact email and the price. Tap List event and it goes live straight away. It takes about a minute.

List an event →

Do I need an account to list an event?

Yes. You need a free GRLS Do account and to be logged in. It’s the same account as the app, so your events, tickets and messages are in both places. You must be 18 or over.

Log in or sign up →

Which categories can I list under?

Sport (badminton, padel, tennis, netball), Tech, Finance, Wellness, Food & Drink (bottomless brunch, supper club, wine & tasting), Parties (day party, night party), and Socials, Learn, Career and Creative. Each event shows one clear label.

What are GRLS Do Originals?

Originals are events created and hosted by GRLS Do: thoughtful formats, clear pricing, and easy to join whether you’re coming solo or with someone. There’s no GRLS Do booking fee on Originals. Each one shows its own refund policy before you book.

See Originals →

What are the live Tech and Finance events?

They’re real events from other organisers such as Eventbrite, listed with their photos so you can find them in one place. GRLS Do doesn’t sell those tickets: you buy from the organiser, who sets the price and refund policy.

Tech events →

Money and fees

How much does it cost to list?

Listing is free. Free events never have any fees. For paid events, buyers pay a 5% booking fee at checkout. It’s shown in the total price up front, and you receive your full ticket price (Stripe’s standard card processing fee applies to your payouts). GRLS Do Originals, the events we host ourselves, have no booking fee.

Purchase terms →

How do I sell paid tickets and get paid?

Set the ticket price when you list the event. Paid events need payouts set up with Stripe before they can go live, and money goes to your own Stripe account. Free events need nothing extra.

For hosts →

How do refunds work?

Every event listed on GRLS Do, including GRLS Do Originals, has the same refund policy. You can get a refund if it’s within 24 hours of buying your tickets, or the event is rescheduled or cancelled, and you get the booking fee back too. You can’t get a refund within 24 hours of the event start time (unless it’s cancelled). Inside the policy it’s approved automatically from your booking. Outside it you can still ask: the organiser decides whether your reason is valid. For events on other websites, the organiser there decides.

Managing your events

Can I edit my event after it’s live?

Yes. Go to My events, find the event and choose Edit. You can change the title, summary, description, category, venue, photos, contact details and whether it repeats. Dates, ticket prices and capacity are locked on a live event because people may already hold tickets. Events that have already happened can’t be edited.

My events →

How do I add photos?

In Edit you can add a header image (the wide photo at the top of your event page) and a cover image (the smaller one on event cards). On the website you can upload a JPEG, PNG or WebP under 2 MB, or paste an image link. In the app you can upload from your phone.

My events →

Can I run a repeating event?

Yes. When you list an event choose Every week, Every 2 weeks or Every month. Nothing relists automatically. When the event ends we email you and ask whether you’d like to relist it. If you say no, or don’t answer within 7 days, it moves to your archive, where you can relist it for 180 days.

List an event →

What is the archive and how does relisting work?

You can archive any event from My events; it comes off the site. Archived events can be relisted for 180 days: choose Relist, pick a new date, and it goes live again with the same details and tickets. After 180 days archived events are deleted (events that took bookings are kept for records but can’t be relisted). A live event with tickets sold has to be cancelled before it can be archived, so attendees are refunded.

My events →

Where can I see my ticket sales and revenue?

In My events, open the Sales & analytics tab. At the top you’ll see lifetime revenue and lifetime tickets sold, plus what you receive, refunds, expected income from upcoming events, average ticket price, average turnout and regulars. Below that is every event with its own tickets sold, revenue and how many turned up. You can search by event name.

Sales & analytics →

Can I host under a company or brand name, and run more than one?

Yes to the name, one per account. When you want to host, you choose an organisation (brand) name, such as “Sunday Run Club”, and every event you list runs under it. It appears on your organiser page and can be renamed any time in your Host hub. Your personal profile stays separate: switch Host mode on to act as your organisation (its name shows) or off to be just yourself. Each account has one organisation, so a separate brand needs a separate account.

Host hub →

Sharing and your page

How do I share my event?

As soon as your event goes live you get a page with your event link, ready to copy, and share buttons for WhatsApp, iMessage, X, Facebook, email and copy link (Instagram works through your phone’s share sheet or by pasting the link). You can get back to it any time from My events by choosing Share.

My events →

Do I get my own web address?

Yes. Each organiser has one page at their own address, for example yourname.grlsdo.com, listing all their live events: good for your bio. Each event then has its own link under it, made from its title: list “Rooftop Yoga Flow” and it’s yourname.grlsdo.com/rooftop-yoga-flow, ready to share the moment you publish. You’ll find both (with Copy and share buttons) on the page you land on after listing, and in your Host hub. You can customise your organiser address in the Host hub (3 to 30 letters, numbers or hyphens, once every 30 days; the old address stops working and your event links change with it). Rename an event and its link changes too, and the old one still redirects.

My events →

How do people contact me?

Your event page has a Contact organiser button that opens their email app with your address filled in. If you add a phone number (optional) there’s also a Call button. Your contact email is required when you list an event, and you can change these details in Edit.

Safety and trust

What do Women only, Women focused and Open to everyone mean?

Every event carries one of three labels so you always know who the event is for. Women only: the event is for women only. Women focused: the event is designed with women in mind, but attendance isn’t restricted to women. Open to everyone: everyone is welcome. Please choose honestly: it’s part of our community guidelines.

Community guidelines →

Can I see who is coming to my event?

You can see how many tickets you’ve sold and how many people turned up. Attendees are private: other attendees only appear to each other if they choose to be visible after booking, and buying a ticket never shows someone to anyone automatically.

Safety →

How do you keep people safe, and how do I report something?

GRLS Do is 18+. Every event is labelled honestly, social visibility is off until people switch it on, and people can block and report others. To report an event, use the Report it link at the bottom of its page. You can also contact support.

Your account

How do I book an event as an attendee?

Open an event and choose Get tickets or Reserve a spot. Free events confirm straight away. You’ll see one clear total before you pay, and your ticket is a QR code you can show at the door. It’s in My tickets on the website and in the app.

Explore events →

How do connections and messaging work?

After you book, you can choose to be visible to other attendees, see which of your connections are going, and send a connection request. Connections are always mutual. Once connected you can message each other, make group chats and join the event chat. It’s all optional and off by default.

People →

What is on my profile, and who can see me at an event?

Your profile shows your photo, first name, a short bio, your broad area (never an address) and your interests. Other people can also see how many connections you share and which events you’re both going to, if you’ve chosen to be visible on them. Nobody sees you in an attendee list until you switch on “Let other attendees see I’m going”, which is off by default. Being open to connection requests and being suggested to other attendees are off by default too, and you can change any of it per event or in your privacy settings.

Privacy settings →

Is there an app, and do I have to use it?

The iPhone app is coming soon and it’s the same account and the same events as the website. You can browse, book, connect, message and list events right here on the website, so you never need the app to get the full experience.

Get the app →

How do I delete my account or my data?

You can delete your account from your profile or on the delete account page. Our privacy policy explains what we keep and for how long, and Privacy choices lets you control how your data is used.
